Artist’s Statement
Intent is the difference between a beautifully constructed art piece and a wasted canvas.
The entire art-making process is a very therapeutic process for me. My pieces tend to share themes of well-balanced colors and structure, but my main focus is usually based on what kind of emotion I am feeling at the time. Whether I am angry, sad, happy, etc. I will be pouring my emotions onto whatever piece I make, and this often translates into my work. The satisfaction received from knowing that I put my heart and soul into every piece I make is only half of the enjoyment, however, because when someone relates to my art, I feel a real immediate connection to that person. Once a connection is made with the viewer, and they have been effectively moved by the actual piece or story behind said piece, I know my work is done.
